Is There Any Such Thing as a Roulette Strategy?

Everyone knows that it's a game of pure luck for the most part, so why do so many people continue to delve into different kinds of roulette strategy? Well, here at Diceland, we've seen all kinds of strategies used. There isn't anything that you can do to affect the outcome of any given spin of the wheel, but there are some decisions you can make to help make your bankroll last longer.

Betting systems are really the only kind of roulette strategy that can actually work, and even these aren't as effective from one session to the next. However, there is a purpose to them in that they encourage individuals to stick to the even money bets rather than playing higher odds and losing their bankrolls in a matter of hours. Of course, this isn't to say that people should never place a risky wager; this is sometimes where the huge wins come in if people are lucky enough to guess correctly. It should be understood, though, that the odds of winning a straight bet are incredibly slim and that means that people should avoid it in most cases and most of the time.

With all of this in mind, exploring the different methods that are available makes a bit more sense. Now, the Martingale system is likely the most well-known and it involves doubling the wager amount after each loss until you win. This may seem a bit counterintuitive at first, but the idea behind it is to make sure that wins make up for all previous losses - and then some. The only bad thing here is that this isn't going to work so well with low-limit tables since you'll quickly exceed the maximum after doubling and then doubling again. The D'Alembert version works much the same way, but you'll only need to increase by a single unit each time after having decided on a fixed unit. Other systems involve using the Fibonacci sequence of numbers or even employing the ones here in a reverse order, but they all serve the same purpose. At Diceland and other casinos, roulette is a game of luck and the only true way to have a chance at being successful over any period of time is to manage your money appropriately.
